Time for... tee?

A wee round of golf turned into an 18 hole adventure with this wee... cart? I am not quite sure why it is called a cart as there are no horses or oxen pulling it... it is a magical thing that somehow propels itself across the green!! Where I am from, if you canna walk yerself from hole to hole, yer nawt a real man aye? Imagine one of these self propelled cart riding sissies in battle!!

At thee Salon

When Colleen asked me to go to the salon, I thought she meant "saloon"...  Did you know that lassies spend MONEY to colour their toes nails with wee brushes? They were sittin' there for hours with their feet in little bathtubs talkin' about God knows what, whilst I was cravin' a pint. It is torture for a man really. If Claire ever comes home with toe nails of different colours and smellin' of lavender... I may just vomit!!

A new discovery!

My dear friend Colleen taught me how to make her special stuffed accordion potatoes last night. I didn't know that there were so many ways to eat these tasteless spuds! I thought that Claire had done it all! What a treat these ones were! She told me that I could share the wealth on my blog here, and has graciously provided me with this fast and easy recipe.

Stuffed Accordion Potatoes

Ingredients/Materials:

~ 3-4 large washed russet potatoes.
~ 1 large white onion, cut into rings.
~ 1/4 pound of bacon - cooked and finely chopped
~ 8 teaspoons crushed garlic
~ 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
~ Tin foil
~ Barbecue

Method:

1. Set your barbecue on medium to high heat.

2. Using a sharp knife, cut several evenly spaced notches into each of the potatoes (each notch should be wide enough to accommodate the width of your largest onion ring). The notches should go deep into the potato - stopping approx 7mm from the opposite side.

3. Gently pry open the notches and stuff in pieces of your onion rings (generally a whole ring won't fit so you can break them apart accordingly), bacon and garlic.

4. Place the stuffed potato on a sheet of tin-foil (like you would for a baked potato) and add a tablespoon of butter or margarine to the top of each potato. If you have any remaining onions, garlic or bacon that didn't fit into the potato, you can include this in your tinfoil.

5. Tightly wrap the tinfoil around your potato so that there are no openings and using a fork, pierce the top of your potatoes a few times.

6. Reduce the heat on the barbecue to medium and place the potatoes face up onto the grill.

7. Cook for approximately 45 minutes or until potato feels fully cooked.

8. Open the tin-foil, top with your favorite topping and enjoy!

You are not limited to these ingredients... you can also try adding mushrooms, cooked ground beef, tomatoes, chives, hot peppers, etc.... for a different taste every time!

Bless me Father... for I have sinned.

.... it has been about 5 years since my last confession.
It turns out Father, that there may just be a place on Earth that I love more than Fraser's Ridge. There, I said it! An' I'm not verra proud o' it! In fact, if Claire reads this entry there may be no parritch for me in the mornin'. My good frien' Mary dragged me into this wee pub-like joint with the name o' "Hooters"... I'll tell ye right now, it has nothin' to do with owls. I sat there feastin' on some chicken when a beautiful big arsed, plump chested blonde asked me if I was doin' alright...truth is, I'm glad my kilt is roomy.

Zadar Croatia

Today I visited beautiful Croatia! It is hard to believe that there were civilizations around before that of the Scots. I had never heard about this land before until Claire told me to read a wee historical novel... her intentions were to inform me how she was able to know all about the history of Scotland when she came through the stones.. I had told her "Who has the time to write down evra-thing that happens?" - she told me that it was true, that people did, in fact, write down what happened at Culloden and in the Scottish Highlands... and that this was the case for many countries all over the world.
So, today, I decided to venture to Croatia and learn more about their history and visit some of their most famous land marks and buildings. Below you can see me standing in the famous Roman forum amongst the cracked concrete and stone pillars.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA

Over the long weekend I visited Valley Forge National Historical Park. I managed to stumble
upon a wee cabin that reminded me so much o' my home with Claire on Fraser's Ridge. How I miss that place with the smell of burning firewood, manure, wet grass and wildflowers. It was a private and safe place for us an' the bairns... one I spent many a waking moments trying to perfect an' grow. Albeit it is more convenient in my wee community here (I regret that I will not announce where I have landed as of yet..... too many bampots aboot!)... what with the running water an' the like... but I miss the Ridge some fierce.

EASTER PJ Style.

I decided to celebrate Easter this year with a couple pints o' stout at a wee tavern I discovered while venturing with my new friend Shannon Bryans, the wee lass. Many a drunk patrons were making fun o' my kilt an' dagger. I told them that breeks are for sissies and almost got into a brawl with a fellow named Egor.

POCKET JAMIE IN NORTH CAROLINA, USA

ArghhhHh!! Apparently I am computer illiterate, Claire had to explain to me how to add "photographs" on my bitty computer here... (she is still learning too but has almost mastered it). Albeit I am still a wee frightened of it since my last accident with my hair, but I am learnin' my ways and I did manage to keep my toe out of harm's way.
A few days ago I was visitin' Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. It didn't take verra long to get there thanks to my friend Colette and her fancy "automobile" - it would have taken much longer on horseback... although I still prefer the fresh air and a valiant steed between my loins.

Sassenachs?

'Ello Sassenachs, T'is I, Pocket Jamie! The man of your dreams, the usurper of all your free time. I was told by some brethren that this "internets" thing is where to go to connect with people from far and wide. So far all I have done is gotten my plaited hair stuck in the "disc drive" and stubbed my toe on the desk... but fear not!, I have decided to hire myself a life coach to teach me the ways of the people from the future, all I have to offer, however, is a cask of my finest whiskey and a large bushel of semi moldy barley. The gent I talked to yesterday thought I was ravin' and called the sheriff on me. I am not sure as of yet what I did wrong, but next time I am bringing my dirk!

I have decided to get into this new trend called "selfies", which I am told is what people do these days. As you may already know, I travel a lot, so I will be documenting my adventures with this wee black box Claire calls a "camera".  Also, make sure you keep an eye on my wee map - I will be updating my where-a-'bouts so as Claire can know where to find me... but you can use it too.... Lord knows I need some more loyal followers around.
